Colorado laws – November 2000 – Colorado Central Magazine
Do you know of a really stupid law in your town or county, perhaps something as dumb as, or even dumber than, the repealed Salida loitering ordinance?
If you do, the Independence Institute, a think tank in Golden, would like to hear from you; it’s sponsoring a contest to find “the stupidest law in Colorado.”
The rules:
— All entries must be received by Nov. 17.
— Laws must be currently on the books, and an ordinance or statute number is required with the entry.
— In case of duplicate entries, the first one to arrive wins.
— The winner will be chosen by the institute’s “crack team of stupid law experts.”
The winner will get a free dinner for two at the institute’s annual Founder’s Night Dinner at the Brown Palace on Nov. 30, “as well as a prize as stupid as the winning law.”
Entries can be emailed to jennifer@i2i.org, or postal mailed to Independence Institute, Attn: Jennifer Mamich, 14142 Denver West Parkway Suite 185, Golden CO 80401.
