Brief by Central Staff
Business – November 1995 – Colorado Central Magazine
Before a single copy of Colorado Central had ever been printed, Richard Harris bought an ad for his Waggener’s Pharmacy, “the corner drugstore serving Central Colorado since 1887,” and he stayed with us ever since.
Until this edition. Changes in reimbursements from government programs and insurance companies, all eager to save money, cut too deeply into his margin for an independent pharmacy to survive. And so, he sold his pharmacy to Safeway, effective in early November, and he’ll be working there thereafter.
He and his wife, Debbie, still own the downtown building at First and F in Salida, which she’ll be operating as a “Made in Colorado” shop.
