After a spate of TV-sweeps sensations, the Vail/Beaver Creek Times assured its readers that the pits marked by orange cones on U.S. 24 in Minturn were not asteroid craters.
But could they be volcanic steam vents? As more such holes appear, perhaps we should bring in expert investigators. Conventional theory calls them “chuckholes,” but face it, our woodchucks aren’t that big.
