Old property descriptions aren’t always accurate, as one Rob Brownlee discovered.
He bought some land that was supposed to be next to the Como Cemetery in South Park. A survey revealed that he’d actually bought into 5.5 acres of the 112-year-old cemetery, including occupied graves.
Park County is responsible for the cemetery. Brownlee offered the county an easement, which will likely be a temporary solution until the county can arrange a trade.
Brownlee would get some unoccupied cemetery land, also adjoining his property, in exchange for the 5.55 acres with graves.
