Get Goosed, a movie about a talented waterfowl being filmed in and around Salida last summer, is on hold until next spring.
The main reason for the hiatus is that actor John Pahe, who had the lead role, suffered a serious stroke in late September and was hospitalized in California.
Charles Newcomb of Salida, who wrote the script and is directing the movie, said Pahe is now out of the hospital and appears to be on his way to a full recovery.
But there remain about 15 scenes to shoot, Newcomb said, and since the rest of the movie was filmed in the summer when the trees were green, “we’ll have to wait until the foliage is green again, rather than yellow and brown, or not there at all.”
As for talk around town that some locals who’ve worked on Get Goosed haven’t been paid yet, Newcomb said that such matters are the responsibility of the film’s producer, and that as of Oct. 16, there would be a new producer, who should get it squared away.
