About the Cover Photographer: Steve Sunday

Steve Sunday’s passion for photography and the outdoors began when he was a teenager living in Bailey, Colorado in the early 1980s. After graduating from Platte Canyon High School, he served for six years as a photographer in the U.S. Navy. Answering a strong call to return to the mountains, Steve hiked the Appalachian Trail and the Colorado Trail, then settled in Leadville, Colorado. He currently works for the U.S. Forest Service as a Wilderness Ranger, living in Leadville with his wife and two daughters.
