Local writers – October 2002 – Colorado Central Magazine
After our review of the Chaffee County Writer’s Exchange anthology, Ripples in the Streams of Life, we recieved a letter saying that the edition had been taken off of the shelf because many Writer’s Exchange members were upset with the poor technical quality of the publication.
So the group is reproofing and reprinting Ripples, and it should be available at local bookstores soon. The new volume reportedly will sport a blue and white cover, rather than the pink and white original, and a slightly different title. This one will simply be Mountain Voices Ripples rather than Ripples in the Streams of Life. The material will be the same, however, with more polish.
According to Dan Bishop, the Chaffee County Writer’s Exchange will soon be separating from its parent organization, the Chaffee County Council on the Arts. “As of August, with the CCCA reorganizing, the Writer’s Exchange will no longer be affiliated with any other organization,” says Bishop.
The group’s mission is to: “foster writing and encourage publication through the sharing of resources and information.” And Ripples is their third anthology of poems, short stories and essays.
