I have been doing art since childhood, and while not currently a working artist, I make every effort to keep it in my life. I studied art formally at San Francisco State University and in 1992 received a Bachelor’s of Art in Painting and Printmaking. Both mediums are a passion, but since living in Colorado I can’t resist painting the beautiful landscapes surrounding me at every moment. From my home in Howard, I view the same mountains daily, and after five years am still awed when watching their image vary throughout each day. The colors inspire many of my paintings, as the intense shadows upon peaks and within dents catch my eye for woodblock prints. Nature alone has become a favorite subject matter for me. Being immersed in it exudes energy and emotion that I sometimes find easier to portray in art than in words. I feel fortunate to be living in such a magnificent, magical place that naturally keeps my creativity alive.
